Revolt Meeting Wednesday

It was decided last night that next wednesday's revolt meeting will concentrate on Russia , as in whos's going , filling out forms , whats the story with it all .
Maybe we could knock out a few ideas on this list as to what is to be discussed on Russia , below is included links to relevant pages that were posted here before .
It would be realy good if eveyone could come next wednesday and really think about russia .

Greening the City

We are in the early stages of making a film about all this greening the city activity with the revolt video collective and we are having a meeting this wednesday evening at 7.30 to outline how the film will shape up so if you would like to get invovled or if you have any ideas youd like to share with us please dont be shy.we would be obliged if you could pass this information onto groups you feel would be interested.

filming will happen next weekend in the dolphins barn garden for the 2 days of work that are planned ; friday and sunday. we will be making a mosaic bench in the garden similar to those by gaudi in parc guell in barcelona.

Short Video: Somali Demo for protection

On Thursday afternoon at 12:30, a group of Somalian Asylum Seekers held a protest outside the Dail before walking to the Department of Justice to highlight the issue of some of the unfair practices in their Asylum process procedure.

Many of the Somalian asylum seekers have not being granted asylum in Ireland and have a lot of concern for the future of their families and themselves. They are expected to show documentation which is impossible as their country has been torn apart from conflict and there is nowhere they can or could obtain a passport or other such documentation, as their county has had no system of government in over 15 years.

Many have had no education in their country yet when they come over to Ireland they are asked geographical questions to prove they are form Somali (how many educated Irish people know the location of our main rivers).

Somali is rich in raw materials and culture but in recent times has been torn apart from civil war with tribal and faction fighting. Many minority people have fled the country to escape the horrors of persecution. Many of the War Lords are opposed to any new form of government because they know they are war criminals. Countries are dumping radioactive waste in to the Somali Sea which is creating awful consequences.

Anarchist Bookfair

The first Irish Anarchist bookfair organised by the WSM took place in Dublin last weekend.
The fair featured stalls by:
Save Iceland campaign, Shell2Sea, The Wombles, WSM, ourselves plus many more!
hopefully it will be the first of many.

ugly sceens on westmorland st last saturday

The brutal scene of three shop workers bing attacked, have now well been documented and as per usual the corporate media have got it all wrong again.

The incident has been very disturbing for me and I have difficulty writing about it.

I returned to the shop to visit Gnabold Khosbayar, Robert Hu and Ze Wang to see how they are after the attack,they were absent and on sick pay while recovering from their injuries. I met instead with Jerry Shoreman shop manager of the shop in West Moreland, a very nice man, here`s the video of our encounter.....

Video Activist Networking in Manchester

Clearerchannel hosted a video activist distribution and networking conference which was held in "The Basement" a social centre in Manchester. It was a great event and we shared loads of videos so expect some screenings when we get back.

Anyone interested in going to Russia?

Revolt Video are in the planning stages of organising a video crew to go to the G8 in Russia in July of this Summer.

Although we are specifically focusing on going as a video crew we are also interested in finding out about groups or individuals who are planning on travelling.

There will be a Revolt Video Collective meeting this Wednesday in Seomra Spraoi (Social Centre) at 7.30pm to discuss futher plans , projects etc
Anyone with new ideas etc are more than welcome to attend

The social centre is located next door to the epicurean food hall on middle abbey street (across from arnotts) its the building with artwork on it you cant miss it

There is a bell outside ring that when you arrive its to the right of the door (please dont knock on the door)

Revolt in Poland

Revolt video night in the AWARIA squat in Zielona Gora,Poland was a great success with about 30 people showing up to enjoy the best in Irish activist video, although there was no translations people really reponded positivly.

It took place as part of a week of events mostlly gigs, the squat itself is not inhabited full time during the winter months as temperatures often drop as low as -15, but regular events are organised and weekly meeting take place to organise and make decisions. Big thanks to Kamila for making it happen!

The gathering will take place on the third weekend of January, starting friday evening and ending sunday afternoon/evening That means it is the Friday 20th - Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd

Since Ryanair = union busting, scumbag, capitalist airline. It's better to go with Aerlingus who actually work out cheaper anyway.

9 Euro over on Thursday Night from Dublin to London Heathrow and 9 Euro to get back around 8am monday morning.

Food and accomadation is provided by the RampART centre.
